On August 19, Kawachi,  deputy director of QST,  Takahashi,  director of NanoTerasu Center, Kawakami, secretary general of NanoTerasu Secretariat, Takata,  president of PhoSIC, and  Amemiya, president of JASRI led  Takaya, deputy director-general of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and his delegation on a tour of NanoTerasu.

　

On August 16, Takahashi, director of NanoTerasu Center,  Kawakami, secretary general of NanoTerasu Secretariat, and Takata president of PhoSIC led Ohtawara, director generalal of the Tohoku Local Finance Bureau,  Ministry of Finance and his delegation on a tour of  NanoTerasu.

 　

On August 9, Kado, leader of the Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu General Secretariat  led a group of 33 students from Shimizu Higashi Senior High School in Shizuoka a tour of NanoTerasu.

　

On August 8, Tomimatsu,  counselor of the Public Relations Group   at NanoTerasu General Secretariat, and Watanabe, special assistant to the President at  PhoSIC, led a group of 20 high school teachers from Miyagi Prefecture on a tour of NanoTerasu.

　　

On August 6, Kado,  leader of the Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu General Secretariat, and  Watanabe, special assistant to the president at PhoSIC, led a group of 15 students from Shiba Senior High School in Tokyo a tour of NanoTerasu.

　　

On August 7,  Kado, leader of the Public Relations Group of the NanoTerasu General Secretariat, led a group of 4 members of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan’s Sagamihara City Council on a tour of NanoTerasu.

On August 5, Kawakami, Secretary General of Nano Terasu, Takata, the President of PhoSIC, and others led Kobayashi, Deputy Governor of Miyagi Prefecture, and his delegation on a tour of Nano Terasu.

On 30^th and 31^st July, we were hosting “NanoTerasu Open Day”.

It was held with Tohoku University’s Open Campus to be understood for NanoTerasu and these innovation area for visitors

We welcomed a total of 2,370 visitors. Thank you very much for your attendance.

The next Open Day is planned to be held in this fall. Details will be announced on the NanoTerasu website.

On July 25, Dr. Masataka Kado, leader of the Public Relations Group at the Nano Terasu General Secretariat, led a group of 47 students from a Science and Mathematics course of Yamagata Minami Senior High School in Yamagata Prefecture on a tour of Nano Terasu.

Noda, Director of the Research Environment Division of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-Japan (MEXT), and her delegation on a tour of  Nano Terasu.

　

On 18^th July, “The 1st NanoTerasu Briefing (Meeting) of the Usage” was held at AP Yaesu (Tokyo). The participants satisfied for the brief introduction of the results from coalition beamlines and the achievements for public beamlines at NanoTerasu. The next Briefing (Meeting) will be held on 23^rd August at Kyoto.

On July 17, three members of a delegation from Yamagata City Hall visited Nano Terasu, led by Dr.Masataka Kado, the Promotion and Public Relation Group Leader of the Nano Terasu Secretariat.

On Thursday, July 11, at the “64^th Sendai City Schools, Principals and PTA presidents Education Workshop” held at the Koyo Grand Hotel,

Dr. Horiba, leader of the NanoTerasu Center Beamline Group, gave a lecture.

Under the title of 「What is “NanoTerasu” that is finally starting to operate?」, he explained what synchrotron radiation, soft X-rays are available at NanoTerasu and how they are useful to society.

On July 10, Dr.Masataka Kado, the Promotion and Public Relation Group Leader of the Nano Terasu Secretariat, led 11 members of Oita prefectural assembly.

On July 5, Dr. Masataka Kado, the Promotion and Public Relation Group Leader of the Nano Terasu Secretariat,  led a 44 members of city office’s managers for SMEs in ordinance-designated cities.

Monday July 1^st, Dr. Takahashi, Director General of NanoTerasu Center, interviewed by a freelance writer Mr. Ogawa for the monthly journal “Pioneers of Future Technology‘

I retire as Director General, NanoTerasu Secretariat on the end of June, 2024. I have worked on construction of governance and management system of NanoTerasu in addition to management of events such as a site visit on the G7 Science and Technology minister’s meetings, the first beam ceremony and public site tours since I joined NanoTerasu about two years ago. I have contributed to the initial operation phase formulating common rules and coordinating among institutions as the first Director General, NanoTerasu Secretariat since this April.

I hope that NanoTeasu takes advantage of its strength as a world-leading research facility and becomes a place to form communities that connect people and people, research and research, and technology and technology and more. I expect you will have opportunities to engage with NanoTerasu in various situation.

The Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute (JASRI), which is in charge of promoting the use of NanoTerasu, introduced NanoTerasu together with SPring-8 at the 21st IUPAB Congress 2024/IUPAB2024 held at Kyoto International Conference Center from June 24 (Mon.) to 28 (Fri.), 2024.

 

On June 28 (Fri.), the research being conducted by Tohoku University at NanoTerasu was introduced in the “Passion Labo” corner of Miyagi Television’s “Miyagi news every.”

On June 11, Dr. Tsuyoshi Yaita, the Deputy Director General of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, led a tour of NanoTerasu with Vice Consul General Lee Byung-Ho, Working Officer Kim Ji-Hee, and Representative Lee Hyuk of the Korea-Japan Future Forum.

 

The Mainichi Newspaper published an article on the industrial development effects of NanoTerasu, which has been in operation since April 2024.

After completing the facility inspection in March 2024, NanoTerasu started facility operations under a new organizational structure, involving QST, Phosic and JASRI, starting from April 1st, 2024.
