On August 27, 42 students from Komaba Toho Junior and Senior High School visited NanoTerasu. They were guided by Dr. Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu and Dr. Watanabe, Specially Appointed Professor of Tohoku University.

On August 26, Mr. Takahashi, Manager of the Promotion and Public Relations Group of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, guided the members of the JOPA a tour of NanoTerasu.

On August 22, Dr. Tomimatsu, Manager of the Promotion and Public Relations Group of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, guided the members of the Tohoku Branch of the Society of Agricultural Meteorology of Japan a tour of NanoTerasu.

On August 22, Executive Director Takeda of QST, Secretary General Kawakami of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, Mr. Masataka Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relation Group, and Director Nishimori of the Research and Development Division guided Executive Director Nagano of the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) and his delegation on their visit to NanoTerasu.

On August 22, 22 scholarship recipients from NAKATANI foundation visited NanoTerasu. Dr. Yagi, Special Advisor to the President of PhoSIC, lectured and guided to them at NanoTerasu.

On August 21, 31 students from Iwate Prefectural Mizusawa High School visited NanoTerasu. They were guided by Dr. Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu.

On August 21, Executive Director Takeda of QST, Secretary General Kawakami of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, Director General Takahashi of the NanoTerasu Center, Director Nishimori of the Research and Development Division, Vice President Niibori of the Photon Science Innovation Center (PhoSIC), Vice President Aono, Executive Director Oikawa, President Nakagawa of JASRI, and Managing Director Ando guided Mr. Matsuoka, Senior Officer of the Budget Bureau of the Ministry of Finance, together with Mr. Oda, Senior Officer of the Accounts Division, Minister’s Secretariat, MEXT, and his delegation on their visit to NanoTerasu.

On August 20, 15 students from ANEC Tohoku University Experimental Nuclear Power Internship visited NanoTerasu. They were guided by Dr. Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu.

On August 18, Secretary General Kawakami of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, Director General Takahashi of the NanoTerasu Center, Director Nishimori of the Research and Development Division, President Takata of the Photon Science Innovation Center (PhoSIC), and Director Oishi of JASRI guided Mr. Fukui, Director for Policy Planning at the Minister’s Secretariat of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), on his visit to NanoTerasu.

On August 8, Secretary General Kawakami of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, Director General Takahashi of the NanoTerasu Center, and President Takata of the Photon Science Innovation Center (PhoSIC) guided the members of Division III of the Science Council of Japan on their visit to NanoTerasu.

On August 7, Mr. Yaita, Deputy Secretary General of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, guided the researchers from the Republic of Cuba a tour of NanoTerasu.

We introduced NanoTerasu as part of QST exhibit at the “(Kodomo-Kasumigaseki Kengaku-Day) Children’s Tour of Kasumigaseki (the heart of Japanese politics)” held at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) on August 6 (Wed) and 7 (Thu). On both days, we welcomed many visitors and presentated with QST’s fusion energy research and NanoTerasu incorporating hands-on activities.

On August 6, Dr. Takahashi, Director General of the NanoTerasu Center; Mr. Kawakami, Director of the NanoTerasu Secretariat; Dr. Takata, President of PhoSIC; Dr. Yugami, Associate Executive Vice President of Tohoku University welcomed Mr.Baba, Director of Science and Technology Policy Bureau, MEXT, and his delegation for a tour of NanoTerasu.

On August 1st, members of “Suurino-Tsubasa” visited NanoTerasu and took special lecture about NanoTerasu and the accelerator by Dr. Nishimori (Director of QST NanoTerasu center).
They are talented young individuals with great potential, and we were impressed by how actively they asked to Dr. Nishimori questions during the lectures and tours.

On August 4, Mr. Takahashi, Manager of the Promotion and Public Relations Group of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, guided the members of the UA Zensen Tokyo Branch a tour of NanoTerasu.

On August 1, members of Kanagawa Prefectural Science Council visited NanoTerasu. They were guided by Mr. Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu.

On July 29, members of Nagamachi Elementary School Social Studies Class visited NanoTerasu. They were guided by Mr. Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu.

On July 26 and 27, NanoTerasu participated in the 2025 National Festival of Science for Youth, held at the Science Museum in Tokyo and organized by the Japan Science Foundation.
At our booth, themed “Unveiling the Truth of NanoTerasu Handmade Stained Glass That Changes Color,” visitors enjoyed a hands-on activity making stained glass using the principles of polarization and birefringence. In addition, we displayed informative panels introducing NanoTerasu and distributed original NanoTerasu clear files and brochures.
The National Festival of Science for Youth is held annually, featuring over 50 booths and attracting more than 10,000 visitors, primarily elementary, junior high, and high school students.
Many families with elementary school-aged children visited the NanoTerasu booth. While the children enjoyed making stained glass, their parents showed great interest in the NanoTerasu panel displays.

On July 25, Ten members of Space and Terrestrial Plasma Physics Laboratory, Tohoku University visited NanoTerasu. They were guided by Mr. Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu.

On July 23, Mr. Takahashi, Manager of the Promotion and Public Relations Group of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, guided the members of the Tohoku Branch of the BIPROGY Study Group a tour of NanoTerasu.

On July 20, as a co-hosted event of the “Sendai-Miyagi Academic City Science Day 2025” (organized by the NPO Natural Science), we held the NanoTerasu Science Day: “Let’s Learn at NanoTerasu – The Wonders of Light and Cutting-edge Technology.”

NanoTerasu served as a sub-venue for the event, with a shuttle bus running from the main venue at Tohoku University’s Kawauchi Campus. A total of 336 visitors, including 96 elementary school students, attended the event.

At the NanoTerasu sub-venue, we offered hands-on activities for children, including making simple spectroscopes and observing the spectra of various types of light. There were also panel displays and video screenings introducing NanoTerasu.

On July 18, Eleven members of Nakamura Laboratory, School of Engineering, Tohoku University visited NanoTerasu. They were guided by Mr. Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu.

On July 18, Mr. Takahashi, Manager of the Promotion and Public Relations Group of the NanoTerasu Secretariat, guided the members of Kajima Corporation a tour of NanoTerasu.

On July 17, Mr. Takahashi, Manager of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at the NanoTerasu Secretariat, guided a tour of NanoTerasu for the delegation from the Nakayama Community Center of the Sendai Hito-Machi Exchange Foundation.

On July 16, 18 students of National Chiayi Senior High School visited NanoTerasu. They were guided by Mr. Kado, Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at NanoTerasu.

On July 15, Mr. Masataka Kado, Group Leader of the Promotion and Public Relations Group at the NanoTerasu Secretariat, delivered a lecture titled “Overview and Future Prospects of the 3 GeV Advanced Synchrotron Radiation Facility NanoTerasu” at the 346th Regular Meeting (Lecture Session) of the Nuclear Systems Association, held at the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum in Kojimachi, Tokyo.
