NanoTerasu Open Day Held
NanoTerasu Open Day, a public opening of the facility, was held on Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30, 2026.
The event is held annually in conjunction with Tohoku University’s Open Campus. It aims to give visitors a closer look at NanoTerasu, one of the world’s most advanced research facilities, and the research achievements made possible through its use, while fostering greater interest in science and technology.
During the event, visitors learned about how NanoTerasu works and the results of research conducted at the facility through panel displays, video presentations, face-to-face explanations by staff members, and special lectures. The event was covered by Tohoku Broadcasting, Higashinippon Broadcasting, The Nikkei, The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, and The Kahoku Shimpo.
A total of 1,301 visitors, including many junior high and high school students, attended over the two days. We sincerely thank everyone who joined us.
The next NanoTerasu Open Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 5.
